Default Lights flash when car is locked.

The lights on my car flash every few secconds after I lock my car. It just started doing it. Is it some sort of warning or something? Anyone know why it does this?

Mine does it every time I lock the car with the key FOB.....even if it is locked. Just the indicator lights and only once for each time I press the button on the key fob. Has done this since the car was brand neww and I think all others do this and is a normal thing for anyone with automatic locks and an OEM alarm. Hope it helps and welcome to the forum!

Mine did this once (that I know of.) It was like two in the morning and I just caught the lights flashing on and off before I went to bed, so I just went and unlocked it (with the key fob) and then locked it again (with the key fob) and it stopped.

It was weird, but I dunno. Mine only ever did that once. (and I always lock it with the fob)

Just to clear something up

Yeah, they all do this (flash the lights once when you lock or unlock the car) but I think avengence is talking about the lights flashing on and off repeatedly after the car has been locked and you've walked away and gone on to other things.

My car always flashes the lights once when I lock or unlock too, but the one time I was speaking of, it continued flashing the lights after I locked the door. Like once every however often (30 seconds? 5 minutes? I can't remember) indefinitely until I unlocked and relocked it.

If your trunk is open when you press the door lock button on the remote, your doors lock, but your lights don't flash until you close your trunk.

I've never had my lights flash any other time. Sounds like a short or something.
