I asked the guys at MMR if they are claiming to give their performance boost without reprogramming and here is their response:

"Thats correct, our V-6 kit is designed to work in perfect harmony with the facory tune and requires NO other changes or parts for the HP gains to noticed."

It's back on my "considering it" list.

Did anybody ask what their "claimed gains" are? Or are we all using the eBay title of 11 hp without any real proof?

their claimed gains are 9 to 11 hp on the V6, and 11 to 15 on the V8.

I'll be grabbing the Steeda intake as soon as its out, and I already have the SCT XCalibrator. Sure, it wasn't programmed properly so I need to return it, but I'll get it back eventually. In about two weeks or so, once I'm settled (I'm in the middle of a cross-country transfer), I'll post numbers for both the tuner and the intake. At least that way, everyone else can make informed decisions.

JSlade8581: Have you heard any news about the Steeda v6 Intake? You mentioned it'd be a couple days until released and its been over a week. Can you tell I'm anxious for this thing? haha [sm=roll.gif]

Sure haven't. I've been on the road (I'm in the middle of a cross-country drive). I'll find out next week, when I roll up to Steeda's offices in Ft. Lauderdale though. I anticipate pulling up sometime in the middle of next week. I'll post up as soon as I know!

I just bought a K&N filter for my V6. $50.74 including tax. Got it from O'reilly Auto parts. I'm going to put some more miles on before I add anything else.

TJKING, is there any increased sound or noticable performance using the K&N filter?

The sound is definately better. As far as performance, it seems quicker but this may be mental more than actual. My car is not broken in yet. 400 miles so far.
Two things that really impress me with this car is the stopping ability and the fuel milage. I don't do much stop and go driving, according to the MPG gauge it was 25.5 for the first tank and so far 26.2 for the second. I checked the mileage myself on the first tank and matched the gauge within .1. I showed higher. This is a 5spd manual car.
I'm going to stop at the local salvage yard and see if I can get another air box cover. I'm thinking (??) that by cutting off the top of it and blocking the stock intake on the airbox to draw air directly to the top of the K&N I may see some gains in sound.
