Default wrinkled top on verts

Ever since I took my convertible home from the dealer two years ago, there were wrinkles in the top. The dealer told me to leave the top up in the sun for a few days and the wrinkles would go away. It's been over 2 years and every time I bring the car in for an oil change, the dealer tells me the same thing. I've had other verts before but they usually had cloth tops and they would not wrinkle.

I'm wondering if any of you are having the same problem???

No wrinkles here and mines going on 2 year in April 08.
I take it down all the time during the summer and back up at night. I do have wrinkles when I first put it up but the wrinkles flatten out after the top is up for a little while.

I read somewhere to never leave the top down for long periods of time cause it wrinkles, I always put mine up when it goes in the garage, no wrinkles. Maybe the dealer had it in the showroom with the top down for a few weeks before you bought it.

They may be set in the fabric permanently. If the hot sun of summer won't take em out, and if you tried some conditioner on there to try to "soften" the material, only hope is to wait em out until you need to replace the top in 3-4 years or so.

Octavio,

Got mine nearly two years... no wrinkles and I'll leave the top down for weeks at a time in the warmer weather....

I'll have wrinkles at the end of the day if the top's been down, usually behind the rear quarter windows. They straighten out once the top is up overnight. You may want to try some vinyl conditioner ( I use Macguiars) to 'soften' the top more so it's more flexible. It may get them out. I condition my top twice a year and it's been OK.

No problems here, tight as a drum. I will try the conditioner in the spring to be safe, can't go wrong with Meguirs.

Thanks guys, I'll have to try the Mother's conditioner. I hadn't seen that yet, I'll have to keep an eye out for it.I do keep the top down most of the time but I've kept the top up for days during the summer and the same stubborn wrinkles were always there.

Same thing for me. A few wrinkles when I put the roof up but they disappear.
