i just ordered a pypes x-pipe to go with my mid muffler set up. now im wondering if it will be too loud? should i have gone with the h pipe? is there a diffence? how loud is the car going to be, will it sound like crap i wonder? i love the sound of the old 5.0's,thats why i got the mid muffler system,so far so good but i wanted it a little louder. what do you guys think?

 

I think the x-pipe tends to be raspier than an H-pipe.

 

Did you order catted or O/R pipes? Both can be loud but IMO I think O/Rs are a lil louder. If you wanted the old 5.0 sound good luck reproducing it on a S197. The O/R H-pipe would have gotten you closer. A prochamber would have been a good call too. An X-pipe would have been my last bet for getting that 5.0 sound.

 

o/r x would be the opposite of what you would be going for, the o/r h is your best bet

 

i guess i will see how it sounds,making it into a h pipe would be pretty easy if i dont like it too much.just have to pull my welder out.does anyone have a cut away of the prochamber,whats inside that box?

 

I'm running the magnaflow OR X pipe. It is not to loud but does have a slight drone at 45 mph. It isa little raspya wot.
