has anyone rigged the seat belt sensor to make it that the car dosent ding whenever your sitting in either seat and not buckled up. I know i know always ride with your sealtbelt on. its safe to wear seatbelt. but either way i hate the dingingsound. and i am not takingout the speaker. so i am askingif anyone has ever done it or knows how to do it. or has had any problems with it?

thanks

I haven't personally done it so I don't know the instructions, but it's in the owner's manual about how to turn off the seatbelt chime.

The owners manual tell you how to disable it for one ignition cycle, as soon as you turn the ignition off it resets itself. I turn the radio up and after a while it gets tired and stops on it's own. I have no doubt its safer to wear one.

Im thinking you will find 2 wires in the buckle thingie. Im willing to bet that its a normally open circuit. Find the two wires and splice them together. That will trick the car into thinking the seat belt is latched.

best way to turn it off is to wear it! once you wear it so much it doesnt even feel like you have one. I dont even think about putting it on anymore its like a second nature. but if your set on not wearing it im sure there is a way...

Are you sure about that? I find it hard to believe that Ford has a different procedure for different vehicles. I know in my 2004 & 2006 F150 you could disable the seat belt reminder completely.

Its easy...and in the owners manual...its called the "Belt Minder"....turn igition on but dont' start the vehicle....wait till the seat belt light turns off....about 1 minute...buckle and unbuckle the seat belt nine times ending with the seat belt unbuckled...then the lighton the dash will flash quickly then buckle and unbuckle the belt one more time and you'll hear a chime...then it is disabled....do the same for the passengers side...to reactivate...just do the same again...any questions...just get out the ol manual...its in there...

You can disable it completely. For one or both sides.
Page 105 of the owners manual. It's referred to as Beltminder.
Seating as Safety Restraints / Safety Restraints / Beltminder.

Well, yourright, I've got an 2008 and just reread the manual, it does have a one time disable feature and then a seperate Deactivating/Activating the belt minder feature.
