i was in the same boat when i got mine i didnt think it helped all that muh so i did kinda of what blue star told you too do. except i dont try to burn out i left the 93 tune in drove it for a week or so and when i got the chance i floored it here and there played around whatever, then after about a week i put the stock tune and air filter back in and then and only then i knew what people were talking about, i still wanna try b ama's race tune though. Anyways it took a while for me to get used to it and actually note the differences, though the trottle responce i did notice right away. anyways you might want to try what i did you will thank brent after you return to stock and see how slllloooowww you feel.

You know....I wasn't all that impressed with it at first either, then I read the post about the "Dead spot" in the pedal assembly. After making the adjustment to the pedal to remover that dead area, the car was a completely different car, and it felt like the gains were then worth the money spent......is it possible that you have that "dead spot" in the gas pedal?

it doesn't feel like the "dead spot".......just wanted it a bit peppier after the tune.

I emailed Brent and told him my concerns and i know he'll take care of me tomorrow....

It usually gives you a 10 percent power increase or less so even though you can feel the power difference it's not really much, but as long as you can feel it you're good. As for car feeling different, in my case I noticed smoother shifting just with the tune itself and it did feel a bit quicker.

ok, so you think that when guys say "it's like a whole new car"!!! and all that.....that maybe they're exaggerating? causei can def feel the power increase, just not mind blowing lol!!
i just didn't know if sometimes tunes need to be tweaked, although i don't have many mods.

oh and i get a substantial increase in mpg
Yes somtimes tunes need to be tweaked. However without a dyno with datalogging,
or at least a datalog from the car on the street I dont know if he could do anything there.
This however would primarily be for bhp though. Just making sure AFR is right and its not pulling timing.

If its primarily a response issue I dont see why he couldnt make the driver demand tables more aggressive.

Ilikethat now when you tip into the throttle it feels like it has some oats.
Thesame when I hammer a gearshift it doesnt close the TB on me anymore.
When I blip the throttle the rpm jumps NOW! Just a short tickle gets the rpm up to match downshifts.
BeforeI had to give a about three times the throttle for twice as long.

You do have a 93 Oct Tune dont you?

Brenspeed tune is the best and definetley doesn't need to be adjusted for crying out loud.
.. and you've tried everything else out there?

Harraid I played around a little today. Try this.

1.Roll along in with Trac Control Off in 1st at 3500 rpm and then PUNCH it! Do a 1-2 powershift (You can breath it a little if full throttle makes you uncomfortable) and then let off.Make sure you do this with the car pointed absolutely straight and be ready if you dont want to hit the rpm limiter.

2. Stop somewhere (still with trac control off) and bring the rpm to 2000 and drop the clutch at the same time you floor the throttle.
Be ready to get off before it slams the limiter or gets to out of shape.

3. Drive along at 60 mph in 4th and jump in and out of the throttle in rapid succession several times.

4. Drive along at 60 mph and let off the throttle and then starting downshifting while blipping the throttle to match rpm.

Im betting after thesefour test you agree its a pretty good increase in response.

The places I notice most is sudden throttle applications, spirited shifts, and matching rpm downshifts.
Before the throttle body would slowly open in these situations. Now it opens instantly.

I've tried three different tunes, one from Bama, One from evolution (which he swore it was better) and Brenspeed. Brenspeed was the easy winner. When I first got my brenspeed tune a few years back it wasn't that hot, however he has new updated ones that make the car feel so much more power. Fred's tune was the most disappointing considering he promised so much but it to me was a total turd. Pardon me if my opinion was out of line.

op, one other thing to consider is that you drive a stick. you definitely feel the tune difference with an automatic more than with a manual. i think a lot of the folks on here who speak of the "night and day" change a tune made for them are autos.

Sorry for coming off a little rude, I didn't intend for my reply to be like that. I come from another forum where everyone is stuck up a certain tuner's ***. *Cough*Troyer Perf*Cough* So, naturally I hate that saying! LOL Well if you ever want to try another tune out for $50, give Justin at VMP Tuning a try. I can't say enough good things about his tunes.
