This will most likely be added to the wiring harness connector and NOT on the back of the radio. Sorry you took yours out. Just curious, how long did it take you to get it out?

Yeah, I'm guessing the mod will be a pass-thru type connector.

It didn't take long, maybe 30 minutes. Just be careful unplugging the connector for the AC (the one that selects the vent that the air comes out of) it has a light grey part that you flip up to remove the plug.

The link in this thread does not work anymore.
I just purchased a mustang with the shaker 500 system in it and REALLY
want my ipod hooked into this system. Anybody have any more info before I start
ripping the dash apart?

the shaker has three plugs at the rear plus the antenna. on the diagrams i downloaded none of them list aux inputs but about 20 of the connections on the plugs are not used. they must be coming out with an adaper plug soon. i will ask by bud at ford or maybe casper knows if they will be out soon. plus if you going to rip out your radio you shoould check to see if it is an a or b series first. then you will only need to remove it once or have them add the plug at replacment.

should have taken typing in high school. lol

You don't have to rip out the unit to see if it is an "A" or a "B". While you are listening to the radio (NOT A CD) press and hold the 3 and 6 buttons and the unit will enter a self diagnostic mode. At the end of the diagnostics it will list its serial number. The last digit if I recall correctly will be "A" or "B". This was in another thread but I cannot find it now to save my life.

Good luck.

I'm trying to use the AUX in for an iPod. A 6 disc changer holds a lot of music but not 10000 songs. :P

You can fit 4.2gb of mp3's into the cd changer. I've got 6 disc's, divided into rock, country, pop, etc. Thats good enough for me.

I read that thread but does it take away the internal changer by installing it. This might be a stupid question but the way the write-up was written. Just curious and I would like to know. That is perfect for me because I wanted to install an amp and this should work perfect.

thanks for any info
