Default KB boost-a-pump

Anybody installed a KB boost-a-pump? Got pictures, locations, hints, advice, experiences with it? Thanks in advance.

I didn't install mine but I can tell you it installed in the trunck near the tail lights. I can probably take the cover off in the back and get a picture if you would like?

The BAP has been around for years and tried and proven in the cobra community forever. It increases the flow ('boosts') of your stock pump. It has a dial in to set the percentage of increase you want. It's a a great cost effective solution to increase your flow if you need it. Rule of thumb is you don't need to increase your flow unless you have to. You'll know if you have to and a dyno will show it easily. For n/a cars, it is not needed and again, it's one of those mods that only does anything for you if you 'need' it.

My advice is to look to the future as well. If you are always going to keep your stock motor, then get the standard BAP. If you plan in the future to do a rebuild and go with dual pumps like the GT40 or GT500, then get the 40 amp dual kit now so it will also be able to work later on down the road with a bigger set-up.

I don't have a BAP, but I was wondering the same thing so I did some research on the net. From what I can tell, the BAP is like a transformer the increases the voltage (when you crank the ****) to your fuel pump which will make it turn/pump faster. I guess it splices into the wiring harnessat the pump. My only concern is how that will affect the life of the pump. But then again, if you're only using the increased voltage occasionally, it probably won't shorten the fuel pump's lifespan.

As stated it boosts your fuel pressure. It does this by increasing the voltage applied to the fuel pump. Instead of 12v-13.2v it boosts it to 13.2v adjustable to 14.4v I believe. Basically putting your OEM fuel pump into overdrive.

Thanks for the help, I'll go browse in the Cobra section and see what I can find out. I'll likely be keeping the motor stock but am looking into installing an s/c myself, something along the lines of the Brenspeed Vortech kit.
