You shouldn't have to cut anything to get off the stock midpipe. Check out this guide for installing an O/R H pipe, same idea

It's O/R meaning that there are no cats at all... install is easy and should take just over an hour

No cutting at all. I installed my o/r h by myself. Spare yourself plenty of time for when you get a tight fit though. Hardest part was fitting onto the stock manifolds. Fitment with pypes isn't good, imo. Be ready to hammer into place. As for tips. A long extension bar and swivel head wrench to reach the manifold bolts.

DO NOT cut the cats...the factory midpipe should unbolt and the new one should bolt right in its place. Make sure you keep your Cats because they are worth some cash and if you end up going back to stock or you need cats you will pay a pretty penny for replacements.

If you have an aftermarket tune the rear O2 sensors will be turned off.

Some people do not like the raspy sound the x-pipe gives off. If you go chambered mufflers it might not be so bad, but if you go with a set of straight through or 'race' exhaust you might regret it.
