Default uhh oh...steering problem?

Has anyone had any problems with their rack and pinion steering? I have about 150 mile on my 05 GT and I thought I heard a single distinct click when turning the steering wheel all the way to one side or the other at very slow speeds? Am I just imagining things?
Thanks for any help.

I have that too.
It's a TSB out on the struts, isn't it?

I heard this on mine yesterday. Seems to happen while I am backing up and turning tight. Is coming from the right front. Does not happen everytime though.

Not sure what needs to be done.

Hmmm...........[sm=smiley13.gif]

Full turn on the wheel to the left and go backwards OR forwards, and I get a popping noise in the right front.
Full turn on the wheel to the right and go forwards and I get a clunking noise in the rear.

Just two of MANY things I have noted to bring up on my service appointment Monday.

I took my GT to the service dept. today to have this checked and they said its the front strut bearings and that Ford has not come up with a solution to the problem yet. As soon as there is a fix they will let me know. I will have the struts fixed along with a gas tank replacement!

Thats what my dealer said too. They said their is a TSB out but it only says for the dealers not to fix anything until Ford has a permanent fix available. The same thing goes for the defroster. Mydealer said that the TSB says to turn your heater control to off before switching to floor only and it will blow only from the floor. My dealer is still fixing the problem with my Mass Air Meter/PCM so I can't verify if that works for the mean time. If anyone can try it and repost let me know if it works. Mine would blow about 30 - 50% through the defroster when you turned it on floor only.
