I put one on mine. Not stainless, it was brushed aluminum ( that may have been what you meant ). It was relatively easy to install. Was a little thicker than I would have liked for it to have been. It does not match ( although not far off ) the brushed aluminum that is the IUP. Only thing I am not sure about was there was an activator that needed to be put on the interior prior to installation. And I am sure that wasn't good for the factory interior.
I just wish the dealer would get my replacement radio in so I could run it for a couple of weeks to make sure it is not going to crap out so I could finish everything. I opted to not put the radio piece on until then.

Don't remember seeing anywhere what the thickness was. I would say maybe 1/8th inch or so. Got it from a guy that sells tons of them on fleabay.

I'm thinking of carbon fiber on the dash....Has anyone tried this yet? I see lots of kits online for $200 or so. The shop that did my tint said he would supply and install for $400. I think I can do it myself but am concerned about that dash prep that they talk about too. Also, I won't do a thing until I have a good radio in the dash too!!!!!

Whatcha see is whatcha get. I put the radio piece on, didn't like it, didn't matter. I pulled the skipper out and replaced it with a Kenwood. So the pictures posted previously is the way I left it as far as the inner dash kit is concerned.

Here is a link to an auction the seller has going ebay link But I believe this is for the entire kit, including the pieces that would normally come on the dash with the IUP. He probably has more on auction. If not, just keep an eye on his stuff. He sells different quantity pieces kits.

Looks like the same kit I have hawgman. I did use the radio cover. I paid $300 for my Ford dealer to install mine. I have gotten a lot of nice comments on it from other '05 owners here in Charlotte.

Wow... Don't take this the wrong way or anything, but $300?? My install was only about 20 minutes or so worth of work, and that was actually kind of jerking around and not being in any hurry. I hope you got a hug out of the deal.

Yes you are right, looks like the same kit.
