My mother has my other key and she was in Florida. I was going to get a key made when I was getting remote start on my alarm, but by them having a chip in them, Ford wanted to charge TOO much. maybe i need to make a sacrifice
Other key in Florida? WTF? What good could
a key to your Stang be doing in Florida?
Guess mom could have mailed it to ya
when your 05 Stang magically locked you
out. If I try and leave the keys in the
ignition and lock the doors, my 07 Stang
will magically unlock them when the door is closed.
So much for aftermarket alarm systems, huh?
If you had both keys you could possably
get a spare from eBay for cheap ($10)and
program it yourself passing the hefty Ford charge.
Skull door lock *****? What else ya got?
So tell me.....how do you program a key yourself? I had to buy a spare key for our 2006 Focus but I haven't had it programed yet. Ford wanted like $50.00! A local Key-Lock Smith told me he would do it for $20.00. If you know a way we can do it ourselves, do tell!

Its in the owners manual. The programming procedure that is.
You need TWO programmed keys and any new unprogrammed already cut keys.
Insert the first programmed key and turn it on sor one second and then off
without starting the motor. Then insert the second programmed key and do the
same within 10 seconds.
Then insert an unprogrammed key and do the same within 20 seconds.
And on and on within the 20 seconds allowed until all keys have been
programmed into the PCM. There is a limit to how many keys can be
programmed.
Its fully spelled out in your owners manual.
YOU MUST HAVE TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS TO DO IT.
There is also a procedure for adding remote key fobs but you dont need
to have two programmed fobs.

My radar detecter automatically stops draining power while plugged in after the car is shut off. It has been plugged in for weeks without the car being driven or started and it had no effect on my battery.

I've heard that if you are on the phone with someone, and they hold a key fob that unlocks your car up to the phone, and you put your phone on speaker next to the car it can unlock it..

Now I don't believe that works, I laughed pretty hard when I heard it.. but you never know..

I also heard that if you put your key fob under your jaw, with your mouth open, and hit a button, you get better reception.. (like across a parking deck..)

I dont know if either of these work.. and I definitely didnt come up with them.. so dont flame me for it.. I'm just throwing out someone's voodoo methods that I heard.

157db has the method I used to program my new key

In case anyone wants to know this is a 2008 Ford Fusion key and it works just fine on my 07, I've heard that they won't work on 05-06 models, but I don't know for sure.

Here is a video showing the cell phone way of doing it. Of course the video could be fake, but here it is anyway.

ahaha, thanks for adding that ^^^

I knew what I was saying sounded rediculous.. but this seems to make it more legit..

I wonder if you hit record on your phone and then hit unlock if you could record the frequency to keep with you.. or it only works in realtime over the phone..?

Curious.. maybe I'll try it..

Yeah, the autos will autolock after you reach a certain speed.

Not sure what happened to yours. Ever try getting out of the car with the key in the ignition, and hitting the lock button(on door) with the door open? It unlocks itself right away. Kinda neat, forcing you to use the fob to lock your doors if you ever want to leave it running and locked up.

As far as the cell phone unlock trick, doesnt work.
The remote to the chin howevr does increase range. No need for the jaw to be open tho, lol.

If my car sits 2+ days I can tell it cranks over slower, 5,6th day, count on getting a jump.
radar unplugged or not. They draw very little power as is
