Default MGW question / random

Thanks for the help in my earlier thread, install wasn't hard at all.

I just installed my MGW shifter (I love that thing ) and my JLT CAI (and this one too)from bamachips and I have a question about the MGW, all of the install docs say the same thing...

from tacobill's guide:

28. Install the shift **** shaft into the handle bracket.
Align slit in shaft to slit in handle bracket for insertion.

Height of shift **** can be adjusted at this time. Make sure it’s within the range of the slit.

my problem is that my handle didn't have a slit of any kind; any ideas?

Default RE: MGW question / random

The original batch of MGW shifters had a shaft with the slit; the new shafts don't have a slit. The old shafts were three pieces, a shaft, a rubber sleeve over the shaftthen a metal sleeve with a slit over the rubber. The three piece shaftwas supposed to reduce noise but George with MGW determined it wasn't needed.

This is what they are referring to. You can see the two slits aligned in this pic.....

Yes, NJ3 is correct. The current shift arms are different from the original. The one I showed the pic of is one of the original mounts...
