it's all about the body style and you know that. people want the new stang body. personally, i prefer the curvy woman-like figure of a vette though.

It's all about the dealer and how much smoke they blow up your @$$. If they have allocation from Ford you will have it built within 8 weeks of order. Ordered mine 2/23 and being built 4/14. And oh my goodness, it has the IUP and it is a GT. So if you ordered in Nov and still do not have a build date, it is the dealers fault. Find a better dealer. It is not fords fault. they give each dealer X number of Mustang Gt's per month. So if your dealer is rinky dink or already took 10 orders before yours you are SOL. My dealer explained this all to me before I ordered. He was up front. He had sold 4 Gt's already and taken orders for four others but still had room in his allocation for me. 8 weeks from order plus two for delivery. Don't deal with anyone who is not a fleet manager. It is the best way. Plus explain that you already know about the allocation buisness. i went to three dealers before I found one who could do it.

 

That's good to hear Scaught... my dealer also said 8 weeks to order either V6 or GT. But I haven't got to that point yet, so I dunno if he's just confused or what. Ft Myers, FL.

 

I am planning on ordering a GT, but am trying to schedule the delevery for late october early november. Can you schedule a build for a certain time frame given enough lead time.

 

Lol! I only wish ford had it set up that way. I wouldn't even mind the wait if they would just give a no $hit delivery date. I just hate getting my hopes up thinking it will only be 4 more weeks just to be let down.

I called the 1-800 # to check my order, and I guess the automated system didn't understand me so an operator came on the line. She said that since I'm a retail customer I can't inquire about my order. She said I would have to go thru my dealership. Sad thing is that when I called my dealer to get the dealer code and order # they asked me for the !-800 # they didn't have it.

I just called back....Clear/Unscheduled

 

did you order your Mustang from Sam Gallaway Ford???? I ordered from him Jan 11, and just
got a Aprl 4 build date Vin in the 93000 range Torch Red ordered all extras except 1000 shaker
so by the time the car is delivered it will be pushing 4 months

 

No, I was waiting a month to buy yet -- but yes Sam Gallaway Ford. I'll call them tomorrow and see what the details and conditions are for ordering -- maybe it's a good idea to get the order started.
