NEXT COBRA IS HERE SVT LIVES!!
In the CNN article it talks about the GT500 as a concept vehicle that will go into production, so the final specs are probably not quite worked out as well as the $$$. It says it is expected to go for slightly more than the $35k of the old Cobra, but I also find this hard to believe. If you took a Mustang GT and did those modifications you would be well into $40k range. Forged internals, supercharger, bigger brakes, upgraded leather, suspension, bigger motor 5.4 vs. 4.6. It smells like a base of $42k to me in order to keep it's target audience. Otherwise, this car starts to compete with the M3, which is supposed to have a V8 next year with over 400hp and Mustang can't compete in brand name cache with BMW. This is not to say anything bad about Ford or the Mustang, just that pricing it closer to the M3 probably would hurt the sales of the new GT500. My .02
