I have been reading the posts about the IPOD connections in the base radio GTs. There were issues with some of the parts conflicting with the car and causeing check engine lights and throwing codes. Has the firm ware officially been updated and these items been put to good use? I have an ipod and would like to use it in the car.

Also, would it be possible if the above mentioned items were not usable to replace the base head unit with a factory shaker unit with the jack?
