x family plan
I am eligibe for the x- plan as well but it is up to the dealer. I couldnt find ONE dealership to give me the GT at x-plan. They were all willing to give it to me on the V6 but not the GT so I had to purchase it at sticker.
Cappi,
That stinks! My dealer didn't even question it. I basically just walked in announced it and we wrote up the order. Really that simple. It's a shame you couldn't find a dealer to do that for you. Not to worry though the car is fabulous! You'll enjoy it so much you'll forget about the x-plan issue!

We have the x-plan at Harley as well but we were told (& I had confirmed it earlier on the Ford website) that the GT was not eluigable for the x-plan. Now I THOUGH dealers were bound by Ford to accept the x-plan as it is not the dealership that is paying for it, it is Ford, however, if the dealership is asking well over sticker for the car, they may only get a total of the sticker price if using ther x-plan & therefore with not to.... Just speculation on that issue.
There is a A, X, and Z plan depending on if you are a Ford Motor COmpany employee, dealer employee, or supplier (or other eligable type). My understanding is that it can be used on all cars and all dealers must accept it. The discounts available (x% over cost depending on the plan) will vary by delaer because of the volume they do.. That is to say that if you go to a high volume dealer, you will make out better
I understand that with the X-plan, you save on all sorts of stuff...first tank of gas, removal of advertising fees etc.. I have a link to a good site about it, I'll try digging it up.. If all else fails, call Ford ( 800-392-3673 ) and get their reading on this one.. It is too good a deal to take one dealers word that they won't honor it
Good luck

Ive looked into it. It is up to the dealer if they want to honor it. Its completely the dealers preference. I checked with my company as well as ford as well as every single dealership on long island. Not one of them was willing to do it for the GT. They ALL would have done it on the v6 & any other car for that matter. But because of the demand on that car, its totally their preference. I dont really care, Im estatic with the car,...

I just placed my order today and was informed by the dealer that the GT was not available for purchase under the X-plan. I don't know if it was the dealer or if it's Ford.....

As mentioned before, it's an option for the dealer whether to honor X plan pricing or not.
I used the x-plan on mine, but it took a LOT of convincing. At first they said the only way they would use A or X-plans on gt's was if you ordered it. But, after a LOT of bickering I got them to give it to me.
It's also good for a GREAT discount on extended warranty's. I got a 5 year for only $600 extra. And extended warranty's are transferrable to other owners and refundable (prorated of course) if the new buyer doesn't want it.

We ordered one on the X-plan. It is up to the dealer and our dealer was glad to order one at X-plan but would not sell one off the lot at the X-plan price. It was worth waiting a few weeks to save 2K. It has been on the rail car for two weeks and is sheduled for delivery next week.
