Default v6 performance and future

was watching a show about the new taraus and the new powertrain is a 3.5 v6 with 260hp anda 6 speed auto. so I got the thinking it would be a bad *** setup for a v6 stang. I would guess 13's especially with a tune it should run faster than a new edge gt. so if the 2009 or2010 v6 got this combo then the gt would probably run closeto 12'sstock justa thought

They won't push the V6 too much, because it will be competing with the GT.
Unless they take the GT to 400hp. That would be great, for both set-ups.

You guys see what the imports have been doing the last couple years with v6's. Not that I would ever look to buy an import with a 6.The new 6 in the cadillac cts is like 305hp from a 3.5 I think. Ford needs to step up and make a respectable v8 for the future that'll step up and beat the competition.Maybe ford doesn't care. The new edge couldn't take the Camaro. But greatly outsold them and ford just seem to be content. It lookslike the newer v6's are getting moretechnology put in them to compete with the 8's.

I dont think it would be pushing it because the gt would probably get a faster setup. I would be perfect for the lil hp war thats going on.

Yea, the gt would probably get a little bit of a performance boost. Maybe just a variation of our engine with 4 valves? But the v6 performance is coming way too close to our v8s.

The new GT will have to be 400 HP because the new V6 will use the 3.5 and push 265 HP.

Sorry guys. I'd love to have 400 hp n/a. But I just don't see it happening. Ford won't come out with a 400 hp gt, at least not this next model refresh. Bush going for fuel economy and all these emission laws popping up.

I could certainly see the V6 as the future... a single power plant would certainly ease production and lower costs for Ford.Since abolt-on superchargered V6 can make over375 hp, maybe the days of V8 really are numbered. I love driving a V8, but between gas prices and pollution concerns they may be a dieing breed... and honestly, if someday I can get a 400 hp GT V6... well, that would be great!
