I've got a 4 year old black & white terrier terrorist that's my alarm system...Works pretty good, too. 
I pity the poor soul who tries to break into our house or cars because that dog is going to go for the throat on any thief...

Yeah, I purchased the "trunk monkey" from Suburban Auto Group for anti-theft system...
I can now say that, it doesn't work in cold weather very good[8D].
