Convertible Tops
OK, without going to the dealer and looking, does the Mustang offer two different tops, cloth and vinyl? If so, does it depend on the deluxe or premium pakages, or is it an option?
Still looking for my replacement ride!!
BTW, I can not believe the difference between the V6 and GT prices. On average they are around $10 difference. I'm now considering a V6 rather than a V8 given the price break, insurance, and of course cost of gas. I will miss the V8 but WTF, $10 grand in variance!! Geeez
What do you all think about this one (CAI and nice wheels, Red interior, 36K miles)? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...;category=6236

RE: Convertible Tops
Cloth can be a stand alone option, but only in black. Tan is vinyl only. My 07 has black vinyl, and the performance is great. Very quiet at speed. The cloth might have advantages many years down the road, or if the roof is put up and down in coolish weather. For me, the car had the options I wanted at a price that was great, so I went with it.

And $10k difference? Look in other places, dude. I just got mine in December and it was like a 5k difference: plus, when you factor in the stuff you don't get standard with a V6 (that you do with a V8) like oh, I dunno...ANTI-LOCK BRAKES, PASSENGER AIRBAGS, TRACTION CONTROL, and other things like front and rear stabilizers and stuff, the engine itself actually only costs like $3k more.
Personally, I prefer the cloth. I think it feels and looks better, but it's up to your personal preference. It is an extra $350 or so.

RE: Convertible Tops
Thanks guys for the input. I have been looking and have decided to wait for the right priced GT. I can't see going backward into a V6 since I've already owned the GT (No offense to thoses with the V6, the fun factor of the V8 is too much). I did find one close to home, red, with red interior, black cloth top with 12K miles 2005, $21,000, excellent condition. I plan on checking it out this weekend.
Thanks again for you help and input, this forum rocks!
