Maguires is the best stuff for everything dealing with your car.

To the serious car care guys out there, which do you recommend for the pony, I've always been very satisfied with mothers and maguires but i'm bent on which one I should stick with. My advantage is that I will have time to wax her every week to buid a shine.

personally, i have used a few different products on the market, ie. the most expensive ones you can buy at the stores, and have found that the car cleaning kit from ford has worked the best and lasted the longest. i dont know if this is something standard with the new stang or what but they sent me a care kit in the mail that has glass cleaner, clearcoat polish, leather cleaner, interior cleaner, a clay bar, and some other bottle of something; i dont really remember and it is downstairs in my trunk. either way, that stuff they use is really good.

i like maguries for their wax, but i like mothers wheel polish. here is a question, my black stang is faded pritty bad and i have been wet sanding it with 2000 grit because it is so bad, then i use a rubbing compund, thena polishing compound, then some wax, but i still can see my clear coat pealing off and it is still white looking, any tips? i used the tire black and did not like how it looked. for thoes who know what im talkin about

I don't like maguires leather treatment, made my leather feel hard a cheap, I'm looking for a different leather treatment.
I like maguires paint care products.

My understanding is not to wax a new car for the first 30-60 days to give the paint a good time to cure/breath/whatever you want to call it. After that you give it a good Carnuba Wax job. There shouldn't be any reason to clay a new car unless the surface is rough. I've used both brands you mentioned and really don't have a preference other than for Liquid - Meguires Solid - Mothers. Don't use an electric waxer for a car unless you've used one before. I've seen some really inexperienced/careless people ruin a paint job with one of those.

I agree - the clay brick is much more important than any number of waxes! My GT looked much brighter after the clay, and is easier to keep clean ever since.
But what are you doing to 'protect' the paint finish and shine after you put all that work into claying it? Wax helps seal the pores in paint that cause that grime to build up.

I did some research on the link provided by hawhman and found alot of good stuff as far as car care.

And based on my research, my pony is definately getting the clay.
