Default Busted Headlight

One thing i didnt seem to look at when i bought my car over the summer were the healights. they were fine in the summer but no that the weather is cold and wet, it looks like the seal of my driverside headlight is busted because it is all fogged over. i definietly need to buy a whole new headlight, but should i just get a stock replacement? i like the HID lighting but that isnt exactly a new headlight correct? what should i do..im new at this car stuff lol

If you're still under warrenty you can take it in and they should change it. Same thing happened to me and they changed it for me.

if you don't go to the dealer, expect to pay a pretty penny to replace it yourself, especially if you go with the '08 hids.

I didnt think the warranty will pay for it if it fogs up becasue it broke. i took it to my buddy's shop n it looks lke that black plasitc piece that connects it on the top ( like if you lift up the hood you see it) has been hit by something becuas it is there on the passenger side light, but the driver side one that fogs up there isnt one. will warranty still cover it? if they do will that discount my price if i do decide on the 08 HIDs?

it will not discount the price of the 08 hids. warranty only covers the product that is damaged on your car.

There is a clause in the owner's manual that addressed fogged up headlights. They suggest that running them for a minute or 2 will clear the lense up. Mine don't fog up but I live in the high desert. There is a vent hole to let the humidity out......or in.

My friend has a new set he took off when he did his GT500 conversion. Only about 1000 miles old.

The ones on my mustang havent done that yet. I had a 05 Nissan Altima that would do that.

Yeah my passenger side one has done this since i got it and in the summer after 2 mins or so it would be fine. but now it seems like it has taken on water from the rain, its not just fogged it actually has condensation (if thats how you spell it) on the inside. im afraid it will end up shorting something out..plus it just looks bad.

so what do you guys suggest? go for the warranty to just replace it? or go and buy 2 new headlight..either the porjection type or new HID?

thanks for the help
