Default The mods never end!

I’ve been modifying my 05 GT since the day I got it back in March of 2005. It’s been both a joy and a pain in my A$$ and bank account, but we all know how much fun and addicting mods can be! I also know how hard it is to find good shops and good information, and sometimes the best is to learn from other peoples mistakes! So for the So. Cal people here is my experience and what I have and is still being done to my 05 GT.

90% of the work has been done by GTR in Rancho Cucamonga. They have been in business working on Mustangs since 1997, and since I moved here in Sept. 2006 they have been doing all the work on my car. There work is solid and they will explain everything to you without and questions or doubts, Family owned and ran I highly recommend them for any job. If you are interesting in purchasing a $5 shorty antenna or a $7,500 on a built block they will treat you with the same courteous and professionalism.

My 05’ GT…

Fully built 4.6 Long block by Power Heads in LA.
Manley Comp. Forged Pistons, Probe Ultra Light Forged H Beam connecting rods, Cleveite 77 bearings, Comp. Ported Heads, HD valve sprints, bolts head gaskets, Comp Cams. 4.6 Stock aluminum block.
8 Bolt Cobra crank
McCloud Twin Disk (AMAZING! Stock feel with crazy power capacity and hook up)
Billet Aluminum Flywheel
FRPP 3.73 Gears
P-1SC (it is currently at procharger getting converted to the D-1SC)
Procharger Race Intercooler
GT500 Fuel Pump with Kenne Bell Boost A Pump
#60 lbs. injectors
JBA Long Tube headers
Fluidyn Radiator
Steeda Tri-Ax Shifter
Aluminum 4” Drive Shaft
BMR Full Subframe connectors Lowering Springs, Upper/Lower Control arms, K-Member,Adustable Panhard Rod.
Tokico D-Specs.
Autometer Coblolt Guages Dash 3 pod (Boost, Wide Band, Fuel Pressure)
Autometer Cobolt Gauges 2 Pod A-Pillar (Oil Presure, Water Temp)

Soon to be added BBS RGR DBK, AP Racing Brakes.

With the P-1SC @ 13lbs of boost GTR was able to get 614RWHP on 100 Octane with there custom tune. We are aiming for 700-750RWHP with the D-1SC at 17lbs of boost.

All in all it has been a great project. Even tough the car has spent over 40% of its life in an auto garage! I will keep you all posted with new dyno numbers.

Excellent information for us So Cal owners!! Thank you. I have gotten several quotes from Gonzalo at GTR, but have not had the work done yet...He has been very patient and helpful with all my e mails....

Did GTR do your gears? What about your headers? I have quotes in hand for both of those mods right now....Just curious....

Thanks again for the positive info!!

Mike

The car is sitting at GTR as we speak, waiting for the D-1 to come back. I will post pictures when it is complete, (need a new paint job as well as I did grab a new hood) GTR did not to my gears, those were put in while I was in Florida but they did install the headers.
