Default Squeaky Brakes??

I have been crusin' my Stang in Arizona for about 1000 miles and I have been hearing my brakes squeak often since day one when I picked up the car with only 8 miles. I called the dealership and they said that it is common for brakes to squeak while they are breaking in for the first 500 miles or so. Well...500 miles has come and gone and the dang squeak is still there! I was wondering of anyone else is experiencing the squeaky brake problem? I also have a 1999 Stang that had the same issue after I installed aftermarket brakes and I was told then that the number one reason Mustang owners bring their cars in for service is because of squeaky brakes. They advised that I reinstall the factory brakes on my 99 stang to "possibly" elminate the squeak. I am hope that this problem has not carried over to the 05 Stangs.

Yep me too....it's hardly made it onto the "fix" list though

Actually last time it was at the dealership I did mention it but they didn't do a damn thing about it (or the struts popping, or the heater air coming out the exhaust vent)....

Every minute I drive that car though I still drive it like I stole it and have a big chit eating grin on my face....I love it.

I hear you about not having the time to get squeaky brakes checked out, but it is annoying to be driving a 2005 car and have your brakes squeaky as you put up to the stop light and everyone is looking at you thinking "damn that car looks nice, but is it squeaking at me?" I really don't want my car to go back in the shop considering that I had to have it repainted after the first 4 days of having it because there were tons of circular scratches on my hood, roof and trunk. My car was on the showroom floor and some idiot must have put a soda can or something on it and left tons of scratches. I did not see them when I picked it up for delivery, but they were notices a few days later. They tried to color sand it but it did not get the scratches out, so they had to repaint a few parts. But if this brake noise continues, after I get my initially owners fix, I will take it in if I can't stand the noise any longer. But so far it has not taken away from enjoying the Stang! Still love it and I am currently in the process of getting my 1964 ½ Mustang shipped from California to Arizona to complete the restoration that I started while I was in High school. It has been many years, but I have got the motivation to finish the job I started.

Every Ford I have ever owned has had issues with squeeky brakes of one kind or another...

Maybe it is due to the fact that I drive (and brake) like a "MAD MAN", but I have a fix. I have found that by switching all my brakes to Ravin Ceramic Pads it has completly eliminated my embarassing squeeking problem...

there is an easy fix, stay away from the dealership on this one thell just bs you. go down to any parts store (kragen, autozone) and pick up a few packets of brake lube. just ask the guys their they will know what your talking about. all you have to do is lift the car pull off the wheel pull the caliper off the rotor (leave brake lines connected) pull out the pads and put the lube all over the back of the pad. do this for all offending wheels. 9 times out of 10 the squeaking is vibration between the pad the the caliper and this will fix that every time. the only other possibilty is that the pads are glazed over (extremely unlikly at your milage unless you frequently test your 100-0 distance) in that case you would need new pads and maybe resurfaced rotors

No squeaks here, but I drove it gently since new. Not that this did it, but maybe
