Radials or bias ply? bias ply is 26x11.5x17. ET Street Radials are 275/40/17.

Agreed, search function is your friend.
I run that setup, but just a different brand DR.
I really dont recommend to drive very far on the street tho. Why not just swap them at the track?

In my case, I work until 5pm, track opens at 5:30 with time trials starting at 6. It's a 45 minute drive to the track for me if I don't stop at home first. Since I have to stop at home before heading to the track, I'm lucky to make it there before the first time trial. For this reason I put my ET Street radials on the night before and drive to the track with them on the car. If you are in the same situation, you might want to look into the radials. Still not the best handling tires on the road but much better than the bias plies.

To expand on this a bit, there are a bunch of folks who disregard the recommended minimum wheel width recommendation by the DR tire manufacturer, and run the 275's on a narrow 17x8" stock wheel (according to MT, the minimum rim for their275/40R17 ETStreet is 17x9"). But like I said, there are a bunch of guys who run the 275's on the stock 17x8", but they only run it on the track. With a short aspect ratio of 40 on a rim that is below the minimum, the tire contact patch is more prone to cup. Drag racing at the track is a straightline affair so there is less concern. But using that combo on the street introduces difference forces on the sidewall of the tire, and that would be a concern (to me at least).

Personally, I run275/50R17 (28" dia) M&H Racemaster DR's on 17x9" replica Bullitts. I ran these all summer on the street and at the track (but I avoided highway speeds in the rain). When they are toast I will probably go to their 325/45R17 tires. The 325's have a tread width of 10.3",M&H now specs that a 17x9" wheel is OK.

I'm running the 325/45/17's on 17x9's and they fit perfectly. That said, the M&H tires run small. I agree with what you said. The 275/40/17 ET Street should probably not be run on the street with a 17x8 wheel. Track is totally different.

I ran the 275 Mickey's last year and loved them. I am very interested in the 275/50 M&H's. Are they sticky enough for the strip or are they more like the Nitto's and good for the street only?

which slicks and size would be good for all out drag that would fit the GT stock rim 17x8? i change the rims at the track, will not see any street driving at all.

thanks!

Definitely sticky enough. There's people running 1.4x's on them. That's amazing for a radial. I'm running the 325's on a 17x9 wheel and they fit perfectly. If you have 17x8's, go with 275. 17x9s, go with 325. They run a bit small. Here's a pic from my recent test fit.
