Default Race Insurance

It's only February, race season starts in about 2 months around here but I want to look into race insurance just in case the unexpected happens at the track. I do race every weekend so a little piece of mind for when I'm on the track might be nice. I know if I wreck my car while at the track my current insurance will not cover me so I'm looking for some supplemental insurance that will. Has anybody used race insurance and if so, where did you get it?

I hope you have better luck than I did finding any kind of race insurance. I tried to get some several years ago when I was racing my 1967 390GT Mustang fastback in the National Muscle Car Association events. I couldn't find anyone to even talk about it.

Bwah-ha-ha-hah! [sm=lol.gif]

This is meant to be funny, right?

There are only a couple of insurance companies that will cover autocross. I know of no-one that will cover anything on a racetrack, let alone an actual race.

Tell you what, I'll cover you - your 1 day premium is the replacement cost of your car.

You can however find medical coverage should you injure yourself. ASA Racing offers medical benefits for members racing in ASA sanctioned events.

Tere was someone on here last year that got race car insurance after they had a wreck at the dragstrip. It was some European company and it was something like $500 for the year. You had to race on a sactioned track at a sanctioned event.
I searched here and couldn't find anything.

Yes grasshopper, google is your friend but only if you read the fine print.

Coverage is not provided when the car is going down the race track under power, but coverage is provided in the pits, staging lanes, and on the return road. (Please read your actual policy to familiarize yourself with its terms and conditions.)

That would be kind of useless....

Had I actually been interested in purchasing it, I would have read the fine print.

Do you need me to hold it for you while you pee, too?

My point was supposed to be that I did google it and every site that I looked at had that disclaimer which is why I posted in here about it hoping maybe somebody knew of something that doesn't come up on a google search.

I don't need you to hold it for me, that would be another person on the list of people who envy me.[8D]
