Default Steeda UDP install

Hey guys,

I was wondering...I'm probably going to be getting some Steeda UPD's and my buddy and I were wondering if we can do the install or id we gotta take it somewhere. Our skills are pretty basic. We've done an intake or two in our lives and taken off and re-installed a front bumper. And if it is do-able, can someone please send me the instructions/write-up. And YES, I did use the SEARCH but didn't find much.

Thanks!

Mat

Just did the install myself last night. Very easy. You will need an impact gun most likely to bust the HB bolt loose. The water pump bolts came out super easy. The total job takes about an hour. I would definitely take the PS & coolant reservoirs and move them out of the way, and then take off the electric fan. It is 5 bolts and gives you a ton of room in there.

I bought mine from these guys for $162.99 shipped:

http://www.performancecenter.com/par.../STD701-0005-A

They were running a special until Jan 31st for that price. I had another thread going if anyone had done business with these guys before (b/c the price seemed rediculously low). They took a while to get them to me (14 days), but I can't complain for the price. You might call them directly and ask them if you can get them for that price... or wait till they go on sale again. I haven't seen them that cheap anywhere else before.

Good luck...

If you can get the old crank bolt, you should be fine.

They do help a little bit, but your not going to notice a huge difference with the pullies. 10hp is being optimistic, it is more like 6-8hp. I was told that delete plates and UDP combined are worth about 15hp.

Unfortunately I don't have a previous dyno tune. I do have stored G-Tech runs, but I put a huge amount of trust in the G-Tech numbers.. Don't know if you guys have the "Building the Perfect Beast" video that Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords did over a year ago. They built up a car (or JDM did) and dyno tested it between each mod (CAI/Tune, BBK UDP, BBK TB, Kooks LT's, Procharger, etc). When they installed the UPD's it put downlike 8or 9rwhp and 10+ft pound of torque. Not badnumbers. I assume that the Steeda one will perform similarly. Mosttuners seem to recommend the Steeda product over the others.
