I know of one other dealership (Advantage Ford, I think) that's semi-close. The first time I went to the original dealership was when I got down here and was having the tsb fuel pump issue, fixed without question! I was amazed. Second time was them to fix my shoddy exhaust work, charged labor of course, and they did a really craptastic job at doing that. So I took it back again, and they kept the car ALL day... even over night, but the exhaust is good now so I'm not going to complain (but anyone that takes that long on adjusting an over axle and axle back mufflers = sucky.) No performance shops that I know of, but if it's a warranty issue then I don't want ot pay out my rear to have someone fix it. If it's doing damage to the engine that can obviously be costly.

Thanks all for their recommendations, Wayne Akers is 1 hour away according to Mapquest, so I might take a trip down there and see what they say. Don't know if anyone read my "Pinging?" thread, but the issue is a thin metallic rattle coming from the underside of the engine/trans. Dealer said that it is without a doubt engine ping, and are ruling out heat shields, plate between the engine/trans, exhaust hangers on the transmount, etc. Brenspeed is saying there's no way it can be engine ping, yada yada yada...

Bah, its hard for them to tell what it is unless they put it on the lift and look into it. Ive read some post that people getting bad gas with the 93 tune causes pinging. Try to load the 91 tune if it works might be bad gas.

Brent sent me a tune that has less timing than stock, while I'm running on 93 octane. The problem is I've been hearing this sound for a LONG time, but always thought it was the exhaust... heat shields, or plate between the engine/transmission. So I didn't really worry about it all too much, but now this dealer is saying that it is 100% engine ping.

Instead of finding someone to lend you one, you might want to find someone that is selling one in case you need to take it back in the future. That's why I kept my stock airbox, even though it takes up valuable garage space.
