Default Remote Ignition

Is it possible to have remote start-up with a manual transmission?

Wrong, most if not all good auto starts come with an over ride for manual. I have a friend that has one on his Integra, and many Alaskans have them. I have my wife start my car while I get ready in the morning so I never bought one for my WRX.

Yeah sure no problem. It will have to be after I get off work.

The car has to be parked in neutral of course.

I know a manual the clutch doesn't really have to pushed in to start the engine over. It just has a wire that needs to be jumped to trick the car that it is being pushed. A engine block will start without a clutch being pushed in so go with that. All manuals have a wire that tells the computer okay clutch in so the car doesn't jump off. Worse thing that would happen on a remote start is if you left it in gear it would stall and jump a little and barely a little asuming you had the parking break on.... There are also ways of making it so that your remote start won't work if the parking break isn't engaged and or in gear.

That said and done the only question I have is with the electronic key deal. From what I have seen is there are modules to trick the car on these.

All these things as an addition to the car alarm with remote start aren't going to run you much money so don't feel its too much work. It would be so cool to remote start your car so when you get in the car is cold and your ready to go

LOL also you can get remote door poppers so it will open the door for you.

You may want to verify if it will pass inspection. Most states won't pass a stick with a remote start. You really need to know who drove your car last before hitting the button. Having your wife start your car is safer. LOL

it is possible. i have a buddy that works at the aftermarket shop for ford in san antonio. he told me that he can get me remote start for my manual for 50 bucks. all they have to do is override the neutral safety switch
