Default INTAKES

i jsut have a few questions.

most sites list intakes for 2005-2007. does this mean they're not compatible for 08 mustangs?

also, what intake has better value?

i was looking at http://www.ninosport.com/BBK-Cold-Ai...&category=5227
19hp gain, and it's only 199. any input?

1. As far as I'm aware, the '08's are the same configuration as the '05-'07's so I'd put money on all of them fitting the '08. The same thing happened when I bought my '07... most bolt-ons were still listed asfitting '05 and '06's. The supplier's simply had not updated their info.

2. A CAI alone MAY net you about 2-3 RWHP. The real bang-for-the-buck is a CAI & tune combo. These will net you typically 15-25 HP, perhaps a bit more. Lots of info on this. Use the search feature. All of the CAI & tunes are equivalent in performance so the choice should be based on what you can afford and which one is most pleasing to your eyes.

You will get 25-30 more horsepower from a good intake and tune. Running an intake that doesn't require a tune (K&N) will give you 10-15hp, thats probably being optimistic. All the intakes should be compatible from 05-08. SCT XCal's are compatible from 05-08 also, but Diablosport Predator tuners have 2 different models; U7140 works on 05-06, and U7145 works on 07-08.

thanks
seeing as i can't afford the intake+tune combo i'm looking into the K&N filters. the site says that my canadian tire store sells them (which means i get a 10% discount) which is strange since i've been told canadian tire doesnt' sell any worthwhile car stuff.

Dude, save your money for the CAI+Tune, you'll be glad you did. By the way, you can find Predators and SCT's on here used for like $200-250 with nothing wrong with them, got mine for $200. Just my $.02...

They are the same for the 08s as well.

But like most people have said, don't just buy that intake you posted the link to. Wait and till you have the money to buy an intake+tune

I paid $190 shipped for my tuner from a fellow MF member.

Here's my worry. Ithought that getting a tune voids my warrantee. I do not want that to happen. Does just getting a K&N CAI without the tunevoid the warrantee as well?
