Default AVIC D3 ?'s

Im looking at getting the pioneer avic d3 and i have a couple of questions. I am assuming that the input jack in the center console cannot be used anymore, is this correct. and also i already have sirius, am i going to have to buy a new tuner to make it work with the pioneer or is the on that is already being used going to work?

The center console jack could be integrated if the installer was able to custom build/soldier the adaptor for it. He would have to adapt it to plug into the aux. input on the back of the AVIC. Your factory sirius tuner WILL NOT work with the Pioneer, another tuner will have to be purchased. I think you can reuse the factory antenna with the new sirius tuner though.

Yea, Pioneer has its own sirius tuner you have to buy, they get ya coming and going, although the interface is really nice. You can reuse the antenna however, and the Aux input would have to be rewired and soldered like Unleashed said, but it is not really necessary since there is an input on the front face of the head unit you can use, i ran my ipod connector through that gap in the center console.

theres a $200 rebate on them now, best buy is excluded from rebate however... crutchfield has excellent service and will give you everything you need to get it installed, but if you shop around can find the unit itself for cheaper than crutchfield has it. I paid $575 for mine last october.

There is a link to the rebate form (MF wont allow PDF upload)

PM sent on the link to the place I bought mine from, make sure you read the fine print on the rebate if you plan on using it however, the rebate did not exist when I bought mine, so not sure if that e-tailer is eligible to use the rebate with...
