Default SCT + Dyno, is it worth it??

I have been looking into buying one of the new SCT Tunner's, the place I went to offered to sell me the tunner and make me a custom tune for my 05 V6 mustang. However, he would need to have two hours on the Dyno. The tunner it's is 375, the 2hrs of Dyno is another 300, total of 703 with tax and all. Is this worth the money?? Any advice would be a great help, as I am pretty new to tunning. What kind of gains am I a looking at??

get your SCT from Steeda and they already have custom programs to give you the best output on your car. that's supposedly how Steeda writes their programs is from a dyno'd tune and they give you their programs for free with the purchase of the SCT. also, if you just ask them what the best deal is that they can give you, they will knock another 5% off the top, atleast they did that for me...that'll save you the 300 for the dyno and about 50 bucks off of what you were gonna pay for that place's SCT.

thats what i was thinking, i mean, if takes these guys 2 hours to get it right, i dont think i want them working on my new baby anyways cause it sounds like they dont know what the hell they are doing...either that or they are getting it done in 45 minutes and then charging more for nothing. who knows, but there are obviously people out there paying for it

"but there are obviously people out there paying for it" ----- not this person

These forums are here to help our fellow brothers and sisters with knowlage and prices.. If I find somethign cheaper I let people know. I found a good drealer where you CAN get under msrp and so far 2 others have ordered it from the same guy.. 300 buck and 2 hours for a dyno is wrong. There is nothing worg with pointing that out . Think of it as our jobs [sm=groupwave.gif]

They said they have to have two hours on the dyno because it is a V6 and as of yet there are no tunes for the V6 with a MMR CAI. Sounds kinda odd, but could be so.

very well may be true bud, but there is much more you can do with that 200 to your car...like i said, call steeda and just ask them about it. if they dont have any v6 programs, then atleast you will know that the shop isnt lying to you. But if they do have a program, you can get it from them and save quite a bit of money.

Also too keep in mind.. this is a intake upgrade.. not an SC Kit with new fuel injectors.. I would still price around first

Called Steeda, they don't have tunes for the CAI as of yet. Another two weeks or so, and it will only be for the Steeda CAI. So, this place will have to custme a tune for my CAI. 150 per hour for the Dyno machine, sounded kinda high to the Steeda guy.

i would wait and buy the whole package from steeda personally..it is gonna save you alot of money, but i also know how hard it is to wait for something that you really want bad. but its your car and wallet so you make the executive decision...in the mean time, i'll donate my two cents
