I tried Hammeron's on idea. I drove my car to the post office and the check engine light was on, and wrench light by the tach was on and I to keep the revs high to keep the car on. Once I got back to my apartment. I checked the default settings and changed the octane from 91 to 87. I let the car idle and took a quick drive. What a difference it was like the car gained some inches in the engine. To be on the safe side I am going to order some tunes from one of the vendors here. Thanks to everyone who responded. For those who want to know I used the C&L file on my x3
Update:
I went to work last night. My check engine light is back on. I guess I will be putting the factory one back on. As I posted before thanks for all replies and inquires.
Bought the intake from a shop that sells mustang parts. I got the tuner from a local speed shop. The intake is a BBK which claims no tune is needed. Its false you must have a tune. I posted this earlier a couple a months ago about the intake. I bought the tuner from the speed shop and unfortnatley BBK is not on the xcal3 listing as one of the intakes with a pre programmed tune.

What octane gas did you have in your car when your light came on?
Second, get a custom tune from Brenspeed, Bamachips, or VMP. They're way better than the pre-programmed SCT tunes.
