Default Need help with C&L intake install

I have 2 questions.

#1 The bracket that bolts to the valve cover on the MAF part of the system, does that use the bolt that is currently installed into my valve cover? The bolt supplied doesnt have the rubber seal, and I cannot remove that seal from the stock bolt.

#2 I am having a real hard time installing the plastic filter housing. It just doesnt seam to fit. It seams as tho all those hard lines are in my way, I believe there is 4. Can anyone supply me with a picture of thiers installed?

Thanks for any and all help!

I used the original valve cover bolt, just loosened it up enough to slip the bracket under the bolt and tightened it back down. As for the plastic shroud it sits up snug to the hard lines, then you're supposed to use some wire tires to fasten the shroud to the lines.

Here is my old setup with the C&L. It never seem to fit right with the heat shroud.

I just ran with out it.

1) I used the supplied bolt, I asked on here and people said I didn't need the rubber stopper. Somebody tell me if this is dangerous...

2) My shield fit well...after I jammed it in there. After that it stays. It is flush with the hard lines, and when the hood closes I believe it seals completely off from the top (the point of a heat shield...).

I removed the bolt from the cam cover, lined uo the bracket with the hole in the cam cover and then reinserted the bolt and tightened it up. The yeat shield went in fairly easily. it just sits in place and then you bolt it down with the bolt from the stock air box. Here are a few pictures of mine:

Thanks for the info guys. I did read over all the instructions but was stumped on those parts of the install. I am going to cut the end of the slot on the brackets so I can just slide it under the stock bolt. The way it came I would have to remove the rubber seal off the bolt and its not coming off.

I managed to squeeze in the box, but it still doesnt seem to fit very well. Its almost like the rear most part of it is sticking up too high. odiaz, yours looks like it fits very well. Nice clean bay too. I might have to take it off when I get my Cervinis hood installed with that ram air kit. I'll take pictures of it all once I get my car cleaned up with the new hood. Its been covered up for winter. Just took it out cause I couldnt wait... Just installed the Brenspeed tune too. Can't wait for better weather.

Thanks again everyone!

Mine did not come with a bracket. I have the C&L Racer.

EDIT: Forgot to mention......mine didn't seem to fit the contours of the fender, but in the end it lays in there just fine. So, just put it in and tighten the bolt and it will be in place.
