Is there any differences between the years? ive been thinking about getting a new 08, but if thier all the same i might just find a really good deal on a LOW mileage older s197.

Hi, My GT is a 2005, came stock with 3.55 gears & 17" tires.
Many more options as the model progressed toward 2008.

 

All the same except for bling.

 

The later years, 07 and 08 came with a little different suspension? or steering? setup to accomodate the bigger 5.4 liter Shelby GT500 engine, thus adding more weight, They also put 3.23 rear ends stock... other than that, just colors and a few options... mood lights and seat warmers and the like...

 

Uh I need seat warmers in my 05! And mood lights! [&:]

Mechanically they are all the same, I bought an 06, last summer instead of an 05'. The 05's had a few first year quirks, very minor, but enough to make me pick an 06.

My experience with 05's was: strut bearing plates, hard to fill with fuel,fuel pump issues to name a few. These are minor things and I'm sure they've been fixed by now. Even then some 06, 07 have had these issues as well.

If you going to do a lot of mods, I would get a nice low mi 05'. If you are going to get a DD, get a newer one, for the warranty if nothing else.

just a few more options every year (heated seats, HIDs, premier interior trim, different colors), i suppose in standard trim they're just about all the same though.

 

If you wait long enough , you can get all kind of incentives for a new one and get it for the same price as a used one.
