I have a quick question, does the Pioneer AVIC D3 require an adapter for the antenna?

 

No ... factory antenna plugs right in ...

If you doing an install ... I have a spare harness and Bezel I need to sell ...

 

I am doing the install, but mine doesn't plug right in, I have black plastic piece on the antenna, does that need to be removed?

 

Hmmm .. my car is 2006 ... and I just installed an Avic-D3 last Friday. The Orange Antenna Wire plugged right in ... you are putting it in the correct hole right?

 

Mine's not plugging in seems odd. Crutchfield says I need an adapter

Everything 2006 and older did not need it as the antenna plug in the car was the standard style that matched up to all aftermarket radios.

That's so lame!!!

 

I'm not worried about it. Until I bought this Mustang 1 month ago I had been a hardcore GM man. GM has required an antenna adaptor in every car they make from 1988. This is not a setback for me. Damn, it's only a 10.00 part retail. NO Big deal!
