Default Just Venting

I just got off the phone with the sales manager at my dealership. He told me there are two people at the dealership in front of me, then they will get a build date for mine. He said they are getting 1-2 build dates a week, so I can expect mine this coming week or the next. Then he said after I get a build date, I will have to wait 6-8 weeks for the car to get here. I ordered this car on Dec. 31, hoping to have it when I got home from Iraq (Mid March). Now I am going to have to wait an additional two months. If I'd have know this crap, I would have had my parent's order one for me the first day orders were being placed. Sorry everyone, just wanted to complain a little because I am jealous.

I guess the really frustrating part of all this is that we just don't have rock solid information. What I mean is that there is talk about allocation amounts per dealers, past production hold ups for various reasons, the convertible now in the mix etc... It just gets incredibly frustrating.

How is it that one person can order a car and get it in a few weeks and a similar car is ordered and it takes several months!

With the announcement of the increase inproduction, I think Ford should do us all a solid and and prioritize all the cars on order for 05 that were put in by "X" date and whatever number s are left over for the end of their 05 production run are used to fill stock orders.

Sorry, just rambling. I know mine has only been 5 weeks, but if I have to wait 19 weeks like someone else I saw, I will go FREAKN' NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I hear ya. I have checked every dealer in Florida, and south Georgia, and know one has one the way I want it. They called in January, and spoke with my parent's saying if I wanted to drop the IUP, I could get it pretty quick. I told them no I wanted it. Oh well, maybe I will have it by my B-day (July 8).

Someone posted a great link to another site where a dealer explained it all in detail. Do a search and find it. I ordered mine Feb 23 and it is being built on the 11th of April. It's not easy to get straight info from a dealer because some of them don't care when you get your car, it is just another sale. I was lucky and the order in the dealers system before mine already had a build date so the dealer was able to give me a priority of 10. after reading lots of frustrating posts here I was worried I wouldn't get mine till June but now it looks like the end of april. All my friends told me to wait out the order process and get exactly what you want. Why not? Most likely I'll own the car for a long time, what's a few months?
