Winter Driving
I am debating on buying a Mustang with ABS and Traction control V6. But I live in an area(minnesota) that gets a fair amount of snow and ice every year! I just need to know how well the Mustang does in winter conditions since that is my biggest concern. Please try to make the answers not biased! Thanks
Just watch your speed! Saw some J@ckass on the news today spinning out and you could see he was going way too fast for icy conditions!
Get the best snow tires you can afford on a seperate set of wheels.

I live in Edmonton, Canada (more north and probably nastier overall climate than Minnesota) and so far my V6 pony with ABS has been fine.
I've left on the stock Pirelli tires and have put no weight in the trunk (don't want to risk getting sand in there or anything) and as long as you drive with a light foot and keep defensive, the Mustang is fine. There are a few times, even with a V6, that it's gotten kind of squirrely, but over all, it's a very capable car in any kind of weather.
Just take it easy, pay attention to what you (and everyone around you) are doing, and you'll be fine with it.
Also, make sure you find some nice empty parking lots nearby, because doughnuts and slides in a RWD with lots of fresh powder around are extremely fun. Extremely. And no burned-out tires to replace. Bonus!

Blizzaks and mustang take off rimsfrom ebay. I commute 75 miles per day in northern Indiana and southern Michigan. Like others have said, take it easy and you will be fine. The Blizzaks will last you for several seasons as long as you keep your foot out of it. They are a soft compound so they won't stand up to spirited driving on dry asphalt. They will make you think you are driving a different car in the snow and ice.
