Sorry to rain on anyones parade, but the X50 is the better choice. The 9500i is basically the same thing, but with the GPS functinality that can actually prevent you from recieving an alert from a previously marked "false alert" location.

And get the blue display, it's nicer when you drive a lot at night.
Well since I have both I can tell you thatthe 9500Iis better than the X50. As for it preventing you from detecting a new signal in a previous marked location, it does pick upa new signal in an already marked location because I have experienced it, plus it is a known feature of this model. I have the x50 too in my wifes car and it is a great model but the 9500i has almost no false alerts compared to the x50 which makes itmuch more reliable. The GPSjust makes it a betterdetector by alerting you to hot spots where there are traffic cameras or known speedtraps. It has saved my bacon more than I care tocount and has paid for itself time and time again.

I swapped out the X50 for the new 9500i and am really happy with it!

X50 went in my wifes car and is also a nice solution.

Im willing to bet money that you will get a ticket before your wife even though you have the better detector. Police have a tough time radaring or lasering the c5 vettes if the headlights are down. I would guess that it shouldnt be too hard to get a reading on the giant flat fronts of our mustangs.

I have a solo s2 too; very nice. I im looking to upgrade though.

And how rd works is it picks up a band (K band, X band, Ka band, and the new Ku band which this 9500 picks up, and old ones like my s2 don’t)

I believe I have 5 bars for each band, and more bars mean ur closer to the cop u r. So as I get closer to the cop or speed trap my radar gets louder and I get more bars.

So if im traveling down the road; and one bar of X band pops up; I easy down to the speed limit w/ no rush. If three bars or more pop up first I slam on my brakes cuz I know im approaching the cop fast.

My 8500 x50 saved me today from a ticket. I was going to class and there was an officer sitting at the bottom of a hill where it drops from 45 to 35 mph and I usually cruise it at about 55 (for best fuel economy). I started picking up Ka band like crazy and slowed down to 35 just before he came into view from behind the trees and I just smiled at him as I cruised by doing the speed limit. I am sure he caught plenty of people this morning who didnt have detectors.
