Quick question...

If you have a v-6 or a GT.. what has your TOP SPEED been?

 

I have had it up to 155 with throttle to go. But that was risky enough as it was even though the radar was running I wouldnt have been able to slow down in time. I was racing a vette so I wasnt going to slow down before he did. Those 4:10 gears had me at 5200 RPM though.

 

not doubting you but doesnt our speedo only go to 140???

i have had it past 140 too but was told that the new stangs topped out at around 146.

 

Technically they go to 149, because the very last mark is at 240 kph.

The last actual number on the mph part is 140 mph but there is also mark at 145 mph with no number since it's only labelled every 20 mph.

 

You are correct MAC10 a stock GT will go to 140. Since I have had the car chipped, I can go over the 140 mark. I can only tell what the guy in Vette told me I was going before before he slowed down.

 

I had mine up to 140, with the 4.10s I had some gear left too

 

cool, i know they will go faster than 145 anyways. like i said, i wasnt doubting you Loomis, i was just curious how you knew how fast you were going. i have done some stuff to mine and even when i hit that 145 mark, it is still going by the way, how did it hang with the vette. i hung with a c5 vette the other day on the highway. very doubtful that i could have beaten it but he sure wasnt pulling away from me.

 

It hung in really well I think if we could have contunied he would have beat me. But he give me the edge by coming up on me and rev'ing up so I dropped into 3rd and took off. The charge motion plates really helped I think cause I was really moving after 90. But those 4:10's hurt in the long run. I think I need to switch to 3:73 once the charger goes on. I will say that the 05 vette is nasty I must give it props. When we stopped he was cool enough to get out and talk the first words out of his mouth were "that isnt stock is it". By far the coolest vette owner I have meet so far.

 

hell 130 was fast enough for me.....i have seen first hand what kind of damage occurs to the person and the vehicle traveling at only 70

 

Well Hybrid I could let him walk me. I agree it wasnt one of my wiser life choices but hey no traffic great road. 8 am on a sunday. what the hell right? I havent done it since. I cant afford the gas.[sm=gears.gif]
