Default Power Seat Button Cover

I boughta steeda billet power seat button cover for my 08 GT, i can't get it to go on, and it's bigger then the stock one. I can put the stock one back on in like 3 seconds, but for the life of me the steeda one won't go on. It says that it fits 05-08.

Is there some special trick to get it on?

No it should just pop on somehow. That's how the stock one is. Like it's a little bit longer then the stock one. It won't pop on though for some reason.

I believe it's a cover, not a replacement. As such, there should be a strip of 3M tape inside of the new cover. Peel and stick to the old lever......

well thats what i thought but the inside of it has a design similiar to the stock one. Also it is the same height, it doesn't just fit over it cause that's what i was thinking at first as well. I was wondering if anyone has actually ever put one on, and could give me a tip for how it works exactly.
