Default Mod #2 for 2008

I'm more of a carpenter than a mechanic so I impress myself whenever I can do somethingon the car. It got above freezing here in Wisconsin today so that was enough to get me into the garage to bolt on my new JBAs. I like'em. Deeper and louder than stock but not obnoxius on the highway. It took me a little longer than I thought it would. I tried to do it without jacking the car up. I couldn't understand why I coldn't get the damn things off. Pulled and pulled with no luck. After jacking it up I could see the second set of bolts on the side of the frame than needed to be removed.

Duh!!

Told you. I'm a carpenter.

Once I decided to not go the lazy route things went fine.

Anyway, I did have a "before" movie but somehow can't find it on the camera anymore. Here is the "after". Still have springs, shifter and rear spoiler left. Maybe the next "warm" weekend.

Did you notice any drone? Sounds great!

I've heard lots of people complain about drone but I'm not exactly sure what that is supposed to be. I'll just say there were no annoying sounds. It was louder in the cabin than with stock. Especially upon acceleration. While cruising it was almost as quiet as stock. If I left my foot a little heavy while cruising in 5th it was louder, but nothing that reverberated or anything. Maybe I don't know what "drone" is, but I sure liked the sound both inside and outside the car.

Wow, those sound really good.

I've always been a fan of really deep controlled sounding exhaust, those are perfect!

sounds great! i like the steam comin out in the vid .

and "drone" usually happens around 2k rpms in my experience; it's a kind of low frequency vibration that you "feel" and hear. you'll know it when you got it. it might take a little while before the axle backs drone though. i know my borlas had to break in before i noticed anything.

Too quiet for my taste. Sounds good though.

I have the ford racing stingers and they have a great sound, but they do drone when I'm lugging the car around 1600- 1900 RPM's. I can avoid it easily by leaving it in a lower gear a little bit longer. Way worth the small annoyance for the great sound. I suppose it would be worse with an auto but I could be wrong?
