Default Brenspeed tunes

I just bought a Steeda CAI w/Brenspeed tuner. I recieved a 89 / 92 / 93 octane tune with the Xcal2 . Only 92 octane is available in this area. Is the 93 octane tune I recieved worthless to me ? Maybe it would have been better to have recieved an 87/89/92 in the first place. Or what if i installed the 93 tune . What would happen ?

I say email him and wait for 87/89/91 tune. He will resend you tunes for making a honest mistake. Right now they have busy doing something so it might be a few days.

Did you request 89/92/93 from Brenspeed? I just placed an order with them and the email I got stated:

If you choose alternate octane’s please provide them to us in the reply to this e-mail or 87, 91, and 93 tunes will be provided.

more than likely I did. I can't remember. I was so excited to order it I probably did make a mistake. The car runs super with the 92 octane. I doubt I'm losing anything from the 93 anyways ( maybe I don't know )

Yeah it really depends upon what you requested from Brent. I have an 87, 91, and a 93 tune, but the best octane I can get in Ca. is 91. But the 93 tune is a "modified" 93 octane tune that runs fine on 91. Brent obviously dialed it back a bit for Ca.

What you do not want is any pinging with the tune......bad.......

thanks. i didn't know that brent made a 93 for the california drivers that don't get that gas. i was so envious of others when they said they had a 93 tune. i was like WHAT!!?!

I asked for 87, 89, and 92 and that is what I got.

Of course I only use the 92 lol...

Yes, but keep in mind that I said that Brent modified it to run on 91 octane. If you did not specifically speak to him about that, I would definately hold off on running the 93 tune until you do....JMO.

Don't run your 93 tune with 91 gas...
