Default LCA Relos question

Does the suspension have to be hanging (supported by frame with jackstands) or can I use ramps?

Panhard rod too, same question...

I know the instructions say use jack stands but I want to know if it is possible to do it on ramps? I'm pretty sure the panhard rod you can't, but what about the relos?

So if I put the rear tires on ramps, I can do the whole installation?

I guess what I'm asking is can I remove the control arms with the suspension loaded?

I would say no you can not, you have to remove the rear wheels for the installation.
You have to remove the E-brake cables and get to the bolts that hold the LCA on.

I Guess it would be possible, but believe me this is not something you want to try and do without the rear tires out of the way.
Make sure you only do one side at a time, do remove both LCAs at the same time.
I did mine one side at a time and still had to jimmy the axle back into place for the LCA.
Good Luck.

What I'm saying is I only have ramps right now, no jack stands. So even if it is difficult, is it safe/possible??

And you don't have to remove the wheels...it just makes things a LOT easier...

I already have the LCAs on, I'm just adding the relo brackets..

I can't answer the question about it being safe under load, butI would guess that it would be OK, but it will not be fun.
I would say go out and buy two jackstands, they aren't that much, the life you might save could be your own.

Maybe this picture will help some.

Don't do it, buy jack stands. It was difficult enough with jackstands.

Jackstands are $20, i mean u will probably spend more on the beer for the install then the stands will cost you, may as well go for the stands

+ 1 on jackstands, you'll use them over and over.

K, jeez, I do HAVE jackstands, but I don't have them right now. They are being used by my cousin. I just had some free time today so I thought, "Hmm, I wonder if it is possible on ramps?"

I understand that is hard enough with just jackstands, I did my LCAs already.

I can't buy beer, I'm under 21.
