Yea, JP1 AKA jet fuel is a highly refined diesel fuel. Diesel fuel does have more BTU's than gas though so you're right there.

It is a form of Kerosene and Kerosene is D1 which is blended with D2 for winter use.

jet fuel is actually kerosene based fuel... it's pretty close but its not the same thing....

I went on the explain that very point. Kerosene is Diesel #1 and is blended with Diesel #2 during the winter for better flow and anti-gel. D1 is a more refined version of D2.
