Yeah sorry to here that! Happens to the best of us. When I was 17, borrowed my dads car to pick up a friend. I thougt it was a perfect time to
show off my driving skills. Three mail boxes later.... Parked the car (96 chev caprice 400 intercepter)[sm=gears.gif] at the house. After work the next day
my Dad found the nice little paint stripping pin strip I put down the right side of the car. [sm=badbadbad.gif].[sm=icon_beat.gif] I will end the story there. I'm to emotional right now to talk about the rest.

HEY...

When you tell us your Low Low Low insurance rates.. how about mentioning the Company... Maybe you can collect on a referral fee!

I'm currently with American Family... They want $900 every 6 months to cover my GT... and I"m 50 with a clean driving and accident record. WTF!
and YES... I already know to "shop" because THAT price is ridiculous for my situation.

I have Nationwide Insurance. $560 every 6 months. 40 years old, clean driving record. Insurance costs here are high because of the amount of traffic. If I lived just one county north, it would be about $75 less every 6 months.

Wow I've never locked up on wet roads, cept maybe in real sudden stops, but I'm used to driving FWD cars.

My plan is Progressive, $400/6months, age 30, 99 Alero, only basic coverage, $500 deduct. I need to find new insurance, thats high for having a clean driving record I think.

Without a doubt, stay away from going through your insurance company.

I'm 21 with a clean record (no accidents or points) and i'm paying 2500 a year for an 04 Acura TSX.
I'm using AIG in northern Jersey (which is one of the worst areas for insurance prices)

Called up Geico to see if they could beat the price and they wanted 5000 a year.

ORIGINAL: dajohu

All of these posts about insurance costs made me go look. Mine went up $4 per month going from a Dodge SRT-4 to a GT. I pay $404/6 months for full coverage 100k/300k standard coverage I had on my last vehicle (404x2=$808 a year or 404/6=$67 a month)

I'm 30 years old, so maybe it's cause I'm an old fart. I think that is cheap compared to when I was on high risk insurance after I lost my license[sm=gears.gif]

I think it's because you are in NEBRASKA! You would never find low rates like that in Southern California. That's my 2-cents worth.

Damn-- that sucks! But, you shouldn't have been driving like that in the rain anyways, that's just asking for trouble!

Hope it all works out.
