Default RE: battery dead or need recharged??

last nite i went to start my car after sitting in my garage for 2 weeks and the dash lites flickered and starter clicked but the car started. so i drove around for 1/2 hour thinking the battery would charge. well it did not. went to start it again and would not start. dash lites flickered and starter clicked again. do i need to trickle charge battery or is there a dead cell. car only has 1800 miles on it.

Probably just needs recharged. Mine took over 24 hours to charge fully after sitting a few weeks. You were lucky, mine wouldn't turn over.

Its the deaded battery drain.
It happens to all whom dont drive their stangs
for weeks on end. You need a battery shut-off
switch or a battery tender.
Putting a drain on an already dead battery is not
good for it. I would not trust it and would suggest
a new battery.

how long did you drive it for, and how fast. To deep cycle charge the battery, the car needs to be moving over 30 mph, at speed, for an extended period of time, an hour or so in your case would probably do it. Idling/city driving will only put a surface charge on..

EDIT: typos

+1
Alternators dont charge very well at idle

A105 amp hour battery need to be charged
with 10.5 amps for 10 hours or 5.25 amps for
20 hours or 1 amp for 105 hours and so on...

Just curious to the OP, by any chance do you have the optional anti-theft system? (The blinking light thingy.)

I thought you might have the anti-theft system. I have a theory that this device is sometimes causing dead batteries if you keep it on for around a week or so without starting the car. I no longer activate mine and I haven't had the problem since.
