Have the dealer do it for $35. There is always the possibility that you could short a wire going to the airbag and BOOM!! You dont want that thing to go off in your face

Watch out for the clock spring mechanism. Trust me, you mess up with it and you are going to the dealer and they won't cover it under warrenty.

Make sure you disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait about five minutes for the reserve power to run out. You can also remove the fuse for the airbag, but not necessary. The picture I included shows which one to pull, it will look strange when you look a the fuses on the car because the picture shows the fuses upside down. You should also replace the steering bolt with a new one and use a torque wrench set to 40lbs. Definately be careful with the clock spring, but if you do move it, it can be reset. Save your $35.00 it is easy to do.

despite the whole fact that i was afraid the airbag would go off in my face that was the easiest thing ive ever done besides installing my shorty antenna, 2 screws that are under caps take out the airbag, unplug harness, take one bolt off, remove wheel w/ harness, and install wheel. took me like 20 mins. all after disconnecting the negative battery terminal of course
