Default A new beginning!

I'm officially on my 3rd s197 GTand curious about breaking in with different techniques. I have 20 miles on it (18 of them done by me on the way home and test driving) Not much different from the last two, but i am finding myself wondering...would breaking in a car from the get-go with a custom tune, Intake, and exhaustwith sub 100 miles on itactually hurt the car...or condition it a different way? Maybe make it unique?

Both of my others were babied, both drove relatively the same. The second one had an intake, exhaust and some suspension.

I want to know if there is another way to make this thing abnormally mean.

Any thoughts?

#1=2006 black GT went over an ascending curb and it bent part of the bottom of the frame, that coupled with 9.1% interest it was a no brainer moving to:

#2=2006 black GT was doing well, some performance mods, had a lot of fun with it...paint was fading at a ridiculous rate...i have pictures posted here somewhere, but the dealer refused to admit to the fading...and since it was on only particular panels it was obvious and was bugging hte hell out of me. I stripped a screw on the T/B which was going to be a ~$500oopsie, and $4k quote on new paint job lead me to:

#3=2008 Vista Blue GT which is an absolutely amazing color. This one seemed particularly vibrantcompared to ones right next to itand i couldn't keep my eyes off it. Couple that with an interest rate of 1.9% and all these nice bonuses with the season on my sideand autoshow dealsafter all is said and done, i have an extra year of payments @ 30 bucks more than my original, which all in all seems like adecent deal to me . Plus blue will never fade as bad as black.

I have learned from my mistakes and know to be more careful and not do certain things at certain temperatures when it comes to tearing apart anything under the hood. This one should be my last. Besides once i test drove this one and gave it mini gas spurts sub 3k RPM i knew this one was different from the get go and have a lot of high hopes.

LOL.....I'm on my third as well. We took them straight from the dealer to the mod shop and haven't had any problems. Once the CAI and tuner was on, I simply broke it in as usual. Avoided red line and long periods at the same speed, but drove fairly briskly.......imagine that in a GT

#1. 2005 V6-auto: enough said! Just kidding, I had electical problems like crazy, dealership took it back, I updgraded to a 2006 GT.
#2. 2006GT-5/spd: kept it for 1.5 years, found a 2007 GT convertible for a steal
#3. 2007GT(auto) - sold the convertible to a dealership and pocketed $3500 profit from the deal
#4. 2007GT(5-spd): model year closeout pricing, keeping this one for a while!

Glad to know you guys ripped off the dealership and someone else that thought they were buying a nice, used GT only to find out later it has a bent frame. Just remember, what goes around comes around.

ORIGINAL: Tony65

#1=2006 black GT went over an ascending curb and it bent part of the bottom of the frame, a friend of mine was a car inspector for trade-ins at a dealer and was able to "ignore" the damage, and got top dollar for it, that coupled with 9.1% interest it was a no brainer moving to:
