Default Fob code.

Does anyone know the code you use on your key fob when your battery dies?
Last year when I dug my car out of the snow and boosted the battery the Ford Roadside assistance guy told me a code in order for my vehicle to work..

From the Owner's Guide:
How to reprogram your remote entry transmitters
You must have
all remote entry transmitters (maximum of six)
available before beginning this procedure.
Note:
Ensure the brake pedal is not
depressed during this sequence.
To reprogram the remote entry
transmitters:
1. Ensure the vehicle is
electronically unlocked.
2. Put the key in the ignition.
3. Cycle eight times rapidly (within
10 seconds) between the 1
(OFF/LOCK) position and 3 (ON).
Note:
The eighth turn must end in the 3 (ON) position. The doors will
lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has been
activated.
4. Within 20 seconds press any button on the remote entry transmitter.
Note:
If more than 20 seconds have passed you will need to start the
procedure over again. The doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that
this remote entry transmitter has been programmed.
5. Repeat Step 4 to program each additional remote entry transmitter.
6. Turn the ignition to the 1 (OFF/LOCK) position after you have
finished programming all of the remote entry transmitters.
Note: After
20 seconds, you will automatically exit the programming mode. The
doors will lock, then unlock, to confirm that the programming mode has
been exited.

Ok maybe I should re-state what I want.
My battery died. I recharged it. My car wont start unless I use my key fob, press some sequence of buttons and I can start it again. Is it only my car that is like this or what?

I thought you were talking about the little battery in the key fob that went dead. How do you get the fob into the ignition switch?Sounds like your car is a 1 in a million. Actually, 1 in 455,000.

Yes... I didn't want to be the one to tell you... But your car is. "The ONE"...

Okay, I'll tell you. But don't let anyone I said it.

press up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, a,b, select, start.

There, I said it. I betrayed everyone in the "know" and told you.

Ya so I called Ford Roadside assistance and they sent a towtruck driver. He boosted my battery and told me the code for my car to start. The code is: Lock, Lock, Unlock, Unlock. While you are in your vehicle then quickly start it. I dont understand why no-one else here has had to do this and I have had to twice now.

Somehow, you are experiencing a glitch. I have never heard of this in all my fobbed cars. I would have them check it out. Not normal.

I too have never heard of this. Really, if you think about it, wouldn't you have to do it every time you disconnected your battery or changed it? It would be the same concept as having a dead battery, like in your case. How much of a pain would that be! Maybe your car has more of a problem than you think. I'd get someone who absolutely knows what they are talking about to look it over. The tow truck guy isn't really your best source of info.
